.  PAST   . Like most Viera, Cedar was raised communally in their patch of well-protected woods. As a kit, Cedar idolized the Wood-Warders, and was more than shocked to realize he would not be joining them. After a few years of trying to fit himself into the shapely wear of the Viera and growing more and more resentful of the strict sex trait dynamics of his community, Cedar set out into the woods on his own to find his own path to guarding his home.Cedar wandered for a while before being found by an elderly Wood-Warder. One too old to return to the town to do what male Viera do and take on an apprentice, but too old to not have help on his watch. The situation suited them both, and Cedar's teacher guided him for several more years until his death. Armed with more understanding of himself and some practical skills in hunting and healing, Cedar set off again to find something new to protect..  PRESENT  . Cedar filled his first year outside the forest with busywork and people watching, trying to find ways to integrate himself into this strange new thing called society and find people to call his new family. The first he found was Him Bo, a kindhearted novice fisherman, and they became fast friends. One disastrous fishing trip left Bo and Cedar treading seawater until they were fished up and hoisted aboard the Stygian Wyvern, a great ship pirated by The Contessa. Cedar now serves as the crew's navigator to return the favor of his life, while also spending his free time selling handmade furniture out of his apartment in the Lavender Beds.
